A Salute to Mothers” -- May
Our annual Mother’s Day Latin music festival is the Bakersfield Market’s largest Hispanic event. Begun in 1994, this free, picnic-style gathering of families is held at the Kern County Fairgrounds and throughout the day averages 18,000 persons in attendance. Popular Latin music groups and recording artists provide non-stop music from Noon to 7:00 PM, hosted by our station on-air personalities. Food and beverage vendors serve up “good eats” and a special “Kids Korner” features special activities for kids. Event sponsors set up product and information booths to attract visitors.

Sponsorship opportunities include: Title Sponsor, Parking Sponsor, “Kids’ Korner” Sponsor, Stage Sponsor, and Premier Sponsors. Sponsorships include a level of billing in all event publicity, promotional participation and spot packages. All sponsors may set up booth areas and many hand out balloons and giveaways, conduct contests and list-building prize drawings, offer traffic-building coupons or fliers, and make appointments. We also display sponsor banners on or near the stage.

“A Salute to Mothers” is an energetic, fun-filled day that offers businesses a unique and effective way to personalize their image and contact a significant number of potential customers.

Hispanic Health and Safety Fair -- June
In our area, health issues are the number one topic of interest to Hispanic families. In 1989, we created this market’s first health fair designed to meet the needs of these families. Held annually the Sunday before Father’s Day, the Fair brings together healthcare and community organizations to provide free medical tests and exams and to give out important information on programs and services. Law enforcement and fire department booths anchor the safety side of the Fair.
This past June, over the 5-hour period of the Fair, 3,000 attended.

Sponsorship opportunities include: Title Sponsor, Parking Sponsor, and Premier Sponsor. Sponsorships include a level of billing in all event publicity, promo participation and spot packages. Title Sponsor may provide bags, given to all visitors. The Hispanic Health and Safety Fair is a bilingual event, open to all, and aside from advertising products and services, it affords businesses an opportunity to elevate their image with an important community service event.

“Viva Mexico!” -- September
In our market, most Hispanic families trace their roots to Mexico and look to Mexican Independence Day, Sept. 16th, as a great day to celebrate. For over a decade, we’ve provided the largest such celebration in the Southern San Joaquin Valley, generally held the Sunday before the 16th.

“Viva Mexico” follows the game plan of our Mother’s Day event—held at the same venue, live music from Noon to 7 PM, with “Kid’s Korner,” food and beverage vendors, and sponsor booths. Sponsorship opportunities are identical. The performers are different and the atmosphere charged with a high-energy salute to heritage.
